Local Foods BBQ to Kick Off Eat Local Month
Friday, July 30, 5-8 pm
Support local growers and eat food that's fresh, unprocessed, antibiotic-free and delicious -- August is Eat Local Month at Wild Oats! We will have demos and tastings throughout the month to celebrate our close proximity to so many wonderful farms and food producers. Here is what we have planned so far:
August 6, 4-6 pm, Green River Ambrosia and People's Pint Brewery
Honey wine and beers produced in Greenfield, MA

August 7, All Day, Member Appreciation Day
Local suppliers will include:

  • Tierra Farm (natural and organic nuts and dried fruits), Valatie, NY
  • Crescent Creamery (milk and dairy products), Pittsfield, MA
  • Dr. Hauschka (organic skin care products & makeup), South Deerfield, MA
  • SoCo Creamery (ice cream), Great Barrington, MA
  • Black Queen Angus Farm (grass-fed beef and pork), Berlin, NY

August 10, 6:30-7:15 pm, Local Foods Store Tour & Sampling
With General Manager Michael Faber

August 11, 11 am-1 pm, Polymeadows Farm
Goats' milk products including milk and yogurt produced in Shaftsbury, VT

August 13, 3:30-5:30 pm, Ice cream in the Afternoon
Ice cream and toppings from local suppliers. Donations welcome - all donations will go to Berkshire Grown

August 20, 11:30 am-1:30 pm, Bakery Demo
New head baker Justin Rice will demo Bumble Bars made with nuts from Tierra Farm

August 27, 5-8 pm, Local Foods BBQ (close of Eat Local Month)
Solo ukulele performer Aaron Lee will join us.

July 30, 5:30-7:30 pm -- Local acoustic/blues/country musician Molly Durnin will be performing at Wild Oats. Molly played at The Mountain Goat on Water Street last year, which is where we first heard her. She is great -- but you'll have to come hear for yourself!

Wild Oats Coffeehouse
Friday, July 30, 8-10 pm
Calling all local musicians! We want you for the Wild Oats coffeehouse. The coffeehouse will take place in our cafe after the Local Foods BBQ on July 30. Emcee'ng will be Wild Oats member and acoustic musician Art Fuleihan. Walk-ins are welcome! But those who sign up to play ahead of time will be scheduled to play first.
